De Mezy Sailing Club
I sail on the St-Lauwrence river in the
south shore of Montreal. This is a narrow part of the
river and the water may become sallow in some spots
during dry summers. The advantage of a narrow river
is flat water in heavy winds. The disadvantage is not much
place to carry chute when the wind blow hard from the
shore. Worth mentionning is the accelerated wind strength
on the channel between 2 islands.
The Club has a ramp launch which permits to
dry sail my boat. I love it.
The club is ten minutes from my place.
Typically, I woke up in the morning, take a look at the wind
and meteo forecast and then choose the right time to go
sailing. Oh yes, my friend Nikola will be there previoulsy
with his Star, now with his Etchells so when can spend a few
hours drag racing. Great.
